Kære forældre!

Som I sikkert ved, har der været en stor eksplosion i Maputo i går aftes, hvor 72 har mistet livet. I har forhåbentligt alle hørt fra Jeres børn – men for en god ordens skyld videresender jeg denne mail fra vores partnerorganisation AJUDE. Alle frivillige har det godt og er i godt behold!

Jeres børn er alle berettiget til krisehjælp, hvis de har behov for det, hvilket jeg også har skrevet til dem. De skal kontakte Gouda på tlf. 8820 8820 og oplyse, at de har en GOUDA SUPER UNGDOM forsikring.

I må endelig kontakte os, hvis der er noget vi kan gøre!

Emne: Panic in Maputo

Dear partners,

This is to inform you that Maputo was affected by a serial of explosions which the source was one of the main arsenal store in Mozambique.

The situation caused a lot of panic and destruction and some deaths.

The first thing we did when we heard the first explosion, even not knowing what was really happening was to sms all the exchangees based in Maputo asking them to not get in panic and make sure that they are in a safe place and in case they are in situation of emergency the should call us.

We tryed to call all the exchangees in order to make sure that everything was okay but in some cases we failed becouse the communication was almost impossible and, added to that we started to face some transportation crisis.

We managed to get in contact with them using other alternatives, calling family or friends.

All the exchangees are fine and most of them spent this dramatic situation with there families.

Isabel Sloman, the british exchangee had to spend the night at Ned's place because she could not get home and she was very in panic. I visited her at Ned's last night just to see if she need any support. She will be moved to another HF today but I am afraid to say that she probable lost her belongings during the fleed.

The situation is now undercontrol but still the risk of some of the lost leftover bombs may blast.

We will update in case of something come up.
